One of the newer neighborhoods, Carmel Valley is a master-planned community that rests in north-western corner of San Diego. Carmel Valley is composed of residential units, commercial offices, hotels, retail stores and restaurants. Carmel Valley was formed by the City of San Diego on February 1, 1975. Carmel Valley is bordered to the west by Interstate 5 and Torrey Pines, to the east by Pacific Highlands Ranch and Del Mar Mesa, to the south by Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve and Torrey Hills, and to the north by Pacific Highlands Ranch.
The State Courts that provide for the residents of Carmel Valley are located in San Diego They include the San Diego Superior Court House located at 220 West Broadway, the Family Law Court House located at 1555 Sixth, the San Diego Superior Court House located at 330 West Broadway, Avenue and the Madge Bradley Court House located at 1409 Fourth Avenue.
