A valley, nestled in the hills surrounded by parks and open spaces, in the city of EI Cajon. "EI Cajon" means "the drawer" in Spanish. EI Cajon is located 15 miles east of the city of San Diego. The city is home to over 100,000 people which makes it the largest city in east county. The locals say the El Cajon feels like a small town while being centrally located in San Diego County.

EI Cajon has a civic center which contains the East County Performing Arts Center and the East County branch of the San Diego Superior Court. The Performing Arts Center hosts many concerts, plays, and other types of entertainment. Also in EI Cajon is Sycuan Casino & Resort, several golf courses and Parkway Plaza. Gillespie Field is general aviation airport. A fun place for the kids is The Boardwalk where you can enjoy bumper cars, a carousel, and a fun zone. Summers Farm is a family owned farm where you can wander through acres of plants and herbs, and explore a giant barn and gift shop.

The East County branch of the Superior Court is located at 250 E. Main St., EI Cajon and handles civil, criminal, family, and juvenile cases.
